about
As a Certified HypnoBirthing Practitioner, I receive many requests for a Hypnosis track that can be listened to during labour. Originally, I created this piece for my own labour and I cannot begin to convey how much it helped me. I turned it on while I was in transition and beginning to struggle with the intensity of labour. Within moments of listening to this track, my discomfort went from an 8 to a 2. I was so calm and quiet in fact, that my labour team started exchanging looks with each other, wondering if my labour had stopped.
This track is rich with beautiful imagery, and enables the birthing mother to connect with the baby and to trust her body. It induces peaceful and calm feelings, and in turn speeds up the labour process because the mother embraces her surges rather than fighting with them. It also triggers the brain to release powerful endorphins, so that she feels as though she has taken a strong anesthetic - by far the best part of the whole track :)
How to use this audio track:
I recommend that you give it at least one listen before labour to familiarize yourself with the process and with the hypnotic state. This way you will know what to expect and not feel apprehensive in any way during your special birthing day. Once labour starts, follow your own guidance and relaxation exercises - but at any point that labour begins to feel too strong or overwhelming, turn it on. You may choose to put it on repeat, or listen to it periodically. Everyone witnessing your birth will be in awe of your calm and collected state of mind. It will truly subvert the Hollywood representation of labour...you know, the one with the hysterical woman, yelling and swearing at her husband - telling him that this is his fault and that it will never happen again. No, not this time.
